shadow

it was a shadow of the past

that i don't know how to last

i was a prisoner of my love

my love that he doesn't want to have

my love was wasted

my heart got busted

i dont know how to mend it

but i guess i diserve it

Celebrating Christmas ‘07

Christmas is all over the city. The cold breeze of the Northern Eastern monsoon is already chilling the evening. The sweet smell of the freshly baked bibingka and putobumbong is filling the atmosphere of the 9 days early Church mass. The different Christmas image decorations in every home, office and streets together with the colorful lights that brightens the dimness of the night were set. Truly, Christmas is already in the air. But it’s not only in our home that we can feel the yuletide spirit.

In Bulacan State University, the College of Information and Communication Technology in particular is also observing this most awaited season. Several BSIT and BIT students help in preparing for this. Most of them have set aside their pens, keyboards, mouse and replace it with scissors, glue, colored papers to show that they also have their artistic side. Every CICT room in the Integrated Building, Engineering Lobby, New Building, and Spratlys were decorated with lanterns, garlands, Christmas wreath, colorful papers and crepe papers that adds color and joy to the whole building. This aim to remind all the passing students that even they are away from their home; they can still feel that Christmas is just around.

Students together with CICT faculty were so much glad that even with their tight schedule, they still have time to help each other in decorating.

Truly, the Spirit of Christmas is everywhere, but remember that it is not how many decorations you have, it is not how much you spend for your gifts or how many gifts you received but the true reason why we are celebrating this season.

SWITS ORGANIZES "SWITSOKE"

In celebration of the 103rd founding year of Bulacan State University, the Society for the Welfare of Information Technology Students (SWITS) organized a videoke booth which they called “SWITSOKE” last December 4-6.

SWITSOKE lasted for three days with its promo P100 per hour. Students from different colleges and institutes visited the booth and supported the activity. SWITS President, Kristina Evangelista believed that the success of the activity became possible because of the coordination of their adviser, Dr. Victoria P. Valenzuela and the endless support of our beloved dean, Mr. Fausto S. Hilario. The rationale of the activity is to give enjoyment to the students as well as to promote SWITS as an existing and recognized organization in the University.

The activity serves as awareness to the students that the foundation day is the result of the triumph not only for the BulSU, but also for the whole CICT. The officers of the organization extended their gratitude to those who participated in the SWITSOKE.

ROCK ‘en’ ROLL The CICT Band Concert

The CICT Band concert was the most awaited event for the CICT family, during the celebration of BulSU’s 103rd Foundation Week. The band members showcased their talents last December 04, 2007 at Valencia Hall under the guidance of Engr. Alex Caparas of the CICT Faculty.

The CICT students as well as other BulSU’s students from different colleges, who have their computer subjects, enjoyed the night filled with different music genre. Even the dean of CICT, Dr. Fausto Hilario did not miss the fun. He joined the concert and sang for the audience. Just like one of the songs he sang which is “STAY”, the students stayed and heard another fantastic voice from one of the CICT’s faculty member who is a choir member, Engr. Marvin Cruz. He sang two beautiful songs that made his students adore him more. The concert made the crowd shout their lungs out when the guest band Trick or Threat Band performed.

The night was absolutely fun for all the BulSU students. And this successful concert proved once more that the CICT band has incomparable talent which gave pride to the CICT.

Job well done for all the CICT band adviser and members!

i looked up in the sky ....

waiting for that shooting star....

hoping things could turn out well....

even if everything seems to swell....

i wanted to show how much i care.....

even if she doesnt want to stare.....

but all i could do is to love her deeply.....

coz that is the only way i could truely be happy...

Isang Toneladang Paa

naglalakad sa kungsaan
ang destinasyon
walang hangang katanungan
di matapos na paglalakbay
isang toneladang paa
hawak ng aking kamay

saan ako paroroon?
malapit na ang dapit-hapon
pipikit muna sumandali
sana ay may sagot
bakasakali....

bukas na tayo mag-usap
sabi ko sa aking pangarap
ngawit at ngalay,
isang toneladang paa
hawak ng aking kamay

paano ba aahon,
mula sa aking kahapon?
bakit hindi kayang itapon,
basurang hangang
ngayon ay baon?

pagod lang at lumbay,
ang tangi kong taglay
at isang toneladang paa
hawak ng
aking kamay....

Dream or Ilusion?

The world is falling down
And I can’t hold any longer
Everything’s trampling down
And my faith is getting shorter

Every turn is such a miss
Hope seems lock in a wild abyss
The corner of my eyes turns white
As if you had a fright

Do not know where to go
I really feel kinda low
Never give a bow
They’ll think it’s a cruel show

Everything turns into a nightmare
The sheathed claws bore
I can feel it near my throat
One wrong move begets my end

Ako ay Tutula

Ako’y tutula
Nang mula sa wala
Sa pagtatapos
Ay para ring wala

Komposisyon ay bubuuin
Nang di napapansin
Isip ay lalagumin
Diwa ay gigisingin

Minsan ay hihikbi
Maya’t maya’y tatawa
Sa katapus-tapusan
Ay parang baliw na

Ngunit anuman
Ang maisipang gawin
Isang katotohanang
Hinugot ito mula sa kaibuturan

Pink, White, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Gray…. COLORS!

COLORS!

“It strikes a chord of our days in pre-school. Sketches and strokes of crayons have the clout of bringing us into a momentary of solitude in a journey of our blissful and naive childhood…free of grown-up’s stressful and unjust life’s experiences.” ---That would maybe the connotation of the first line to most of us, but for a little kid from Africa who wrote the nominated best poem for year 2005; colors have a meaning that is beyond those fancy visual spectra of light…

When I born,
I black.
When I grow up,
I black.
When I go in the sun,
I black.
When I scared,
I black.
When I sick,
I black.
And when I die,
I still black.

And you white fella,
When you born,
You pink.
When you grow up,
You white.
When you go in the sun,
You red.
When you cold,
You blue.
When you scared,
You yellow.
When you sick,
You green.
And when you die,
You gray…
And you calling me colored?

Read between the lines. Although this poem can be accessed from site displaying “funny stuffs” we are aware that this isn’t a laughing bits and pieces anymore. At young age the kid is completely aware of social bigotry – Racism [doctrine, belief, or assumption that inherited biological differences cause some human subpopulations to be fundamentally different from, or superior to, others * Microsoft ® Encarta ® Premium Suite 2005. © 1993-2004 Microsoft Corporation]. The Color Purple by Alice Walker also signifies the discrimination between black women and Americans.

DISCRIMINATION has many faces aiming to verdict social prejudices among races, obliterating the hope of achieving a classless society, desolately that even colors have to speak of indifferences and biases in the eye of a child…

Dark Liquid

The monster lures again
Sinks its teeth
In my very flesh
The blood gushes
The dark liquid flows
Out of my veins
my skin
my body
It rips my soul apart
I can’t hear my hollow scream
Can’t exert even a weak struggle
Everything becomes numb
Now it sucks my blood
Like a wine
Red and sticky
An elixir of life
Death dawned upon me
Breathing becomes impossible
My heart stops
A smile formed in my pale lips

Pluma

Ang pagtarak ng pluma
Sa aking puso at kaluluwa
Dulot ay pag-agos
Dugo’t diwa nagbumuhos

Paampatin man ang sugat
Katotohana’y nagdudumilat
Umusbong isang manunulat
Ayaw papigil ni magpaawat

Kumatha at lumikha
Nais na gawain
Magkuwento at tumula
Mga ibig na sulatin

Ang pagkakatugma-tugma
Ng salita at damdamin
Kamalayan nasasalamin
Tila malayang tugtugin

sweet nightmares

how could i ever forget you?
if even in my dreams you come so real and true
though i can never touch you
i know my soul deeply do...

your image haunted me like a sweet shadow
that resides in my deepest memory,
and as i try to hold you i know
i'll be sorry for expecting you'll feel the same way too.

sorry for acting like i'm yours,
didn't hope to make you mine...
but i didn't know how can i be so blind
for something stupid and sublime...

now i'm caged in this memory,
and a prisoner of my own heart...
left insane with all my wishes and fantasies,
shed into pieces and parts...

hoping to be revived to this damn mess
by the same person who left me to rest
or i'll soon forget how to live the best
for i'll be dead and nothing would i ever left...
